4.4.2.1. A board of review is scheduled
Required
After completing the requirements for any Sea Scout rank, the Sea Scout appears before a board of review. Its purpose is to determine the quality of the candidate's experience and decide whether the youth is qualified to advance.
Notes and warnings
Note. The board of review date becomes the effective advancement date, so a board that is put off does not merely delay a ceremony: it moves the date the Sea Scout holds the rank from, and with it the start of anything measured in tenure.
