4.4.2.4. About 15 minutes, and no longer than 30

This may not apply to you. You have not answered "Which rank is this board of review for?" yet. Answer it and this step will either settle or drop off.

The review should take approximately 15 minutes, but no longer than 30. This is how long the meeting runs, not a scheduling figure — see the note at the head of this file about lead days.

Tip. Fifteen minutes is short, and it is short on purpose. It is long enough for the board to hear how the rank was earned and not long enough to drift into a retest. If a review is routinely running to the 30-minute limit, look at what is being asked.
