Task · part of 2(D). Option D, Skateboarding
2(D)(14). Three tricks, from five families
Optional May not apply Often forgotten
A CHOICE INSIDE AN OPTION, and the only one on this badge: three skateboarding tricks, drawn from five listed types. Three of five, and the families are not equally easy to reach, because two of them need a feature to do them on.
Notes and warnings
Note. THREE OF FIVE, AND THE FIVE ARE NOT EQUALLY REACHABLE. Flat ground tricks need nothing but flat ground. Flip and shove-it tricks are built on the ollie in step 12, which is already required, so they cost the least extra. Footplant tricks need no particular feature either. GRIND AND SLIDE TRICKS NEED A RAIL, A LEDGE OR COPING, AND AIR AND GRAB TRICKS NEED A RAMP OR A BOWL, so those two depend on what the skatepark actually has. Since step 13 already requires coping, a park with a bowl makes all five available and a flat concrete pad makes only three of them practical. Look at what is there before deciding which three to work on.
