1. Hazards and first aid, the only work every option shares
Required
Two parts, both explanations, neither of them on skates. This is the whole of what a Scout doing the ice rink and a Scout doing the skatepark have in common, and it is the part that can be prepared at home before anybody decides which option to take.

Note. THE FIRST AID LIST IS THE UNION OF FOUR DIFFERENT SPORTS, AND READING IT TELLS YOU WHAT THIS BADGE IS. Hypothermia, frostbite, lacerations, abrasions, fractures, sprains and strains, concussions, blisters, heat-related reactions, and shock. Two of those are cold injuries and one is a heat injury, and no single one of these four activities would ever ask for that combination on its own. It is an outdoor ice rink in January and a pavement in August in the same line. TEN CONDITIONS MEANS TEN ANSWERS, so build it as a table rather than writing a paragraph. This requirement and 1(a) are the only work every Scout on this badge does, they need no rink and no adult standing over them, and they can be finished before the option is even chosen.
