3. Life jackets, chosen and fitted

Note. THIS ONE IS NOT ON REQUIREMENT 2'S LIST, WHICH MEANS IT CAN BE DONE BEFORE THE SWIMMER TEST. It is three jobs rather than one. The characteristics of the life jackets MOST APPROPRIATE FOR ROWING is the first, and it is a real question: a jacket that is comfortable to sit and pull in is not the same as one meant for standing in a boat or for whitewater. Why one must ALWAYS be worn is the second, and the answer is about the water you fall into being colder and further from shore than it looked. The third is a demonstration of selecting AND fitting, which is two things: choosing the right size and type, then adjusting it so it does not ride up. Have somebody try to lift it by the shoulders while they wear it.
