4.2.3.4.4. The Scout must NOT be held to unwritten expectations

This may not apply to you. You have not answered "Has the unit written its expectations down?" yet. Answer it and this step will either settle or drop off.

If it is left to the Scout to determine what should be done and they make a reasonable effort to perform accordingly for the time specified, the requirement is fulfilled — even if the effort or results are not what the unit leader or a board of review would have wanted to see.

Warning. The commonest unfairness in this requirement. A board of review that judges a Scout against a standard the unit never wrote down and never communicated is applying an expectation that did not exist while the Scout was serving.
